Aleksandra Miglowiec Newland
Piccolo, C flute, a Connecticut native who holds a M.A. in Flute Performance and Pedagogy from the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz, Poland, where she studied under Antoni Wierzbinski. Other teachers include Dr. Barbara Hopkins, Peter Standaart, and Janos Balint. She has performed in Poland, Turkey, Germany, Croatia, and the United States. Currently, she holds a flute/piccolo position in the Connecticut Valley Symphony Orchestra, and is a member of Concert Timbre - a performance collaborative in New York City.
C flute studied flute performance at the Hartford Conservatory, The Hartt School of Music, and Syracuse University and also earned a degree from the CT Culinary Institute. She is principal flute of both The West Hartford and Nutmeg Symphony Orchestras and teaches and performs throughout CT and MA. Her latest endeavor is the creation of a flute and oboe duo which will perform newly transcribed works.
Helene Rosenblatt
Contrabass flute, Bass Flute, C Flute, Piccolo, Artistic Director - Mus.M. in Performance, Boston Univ., B.S. in Ed. Hofstra U. Teachers include William F.Heim, James Pappoutsakis, Christopher Kruger, Ransom Wilson and Master Class with Marcel Moyse. For many years Helene freelanced in orchestras in the Boston and Worcester areas, formed and managed several chamber music groups in NY, MA and CT. She taught and was Assistant to the Director of South Shore Conservatory in MA. She has performed with the Opera Company of Boston, South Shore Conservatory of Music , Connecticut Virtuosi, and a number of CT groups. Currently Director of Blackledgemusic,Inc. a non-profit Chamber Music Consortium in Connecticut ,private flute and chamber music instructor.
David Rosenblum
C flute, Alto Flute, Earned his medical degree from the
University of Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Medical
Director of Outpatient Medical Services at Gaylord Hospital, Director of
the spinal cord program at Gaylord, Co-Director of Clinical Care
Spaulding New England Regional Model SCI System, Associate
Professor of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Yale University, School of
Medicine; He has published many medical articles, medical text chapters
and has given regional and national presentations. As a flutist, he has
studied with Harold Bennet (prior principal
of Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York City), Irvin Gillman- prior
principal of the Albany Symphony- and David Dewitt of the Hudson Valley
Philharmonic. He was selected to perform the Mozart Concerto in D as a
concerto competition winner, has performed
with the Silver Village Flute Choir, and currently performs with the
New Haven Chamber Orchestra.
